As a modern approach to incorporating old rudimentary elements of architecture into contemporary design implementations, the project incorporates traditional construction methods supported by modern retention techniques exhibiting the raw distinguishable features revealing a semblance to the olden times. The project is nestled in a semi-urban area encompassing a hub for occasional social and cultural engagements, hailing a necessary third space, accommodating close acquaintances. Set within a broad land area, the farmhouse functions as a seasonal retreat for family and friends. The layout comprising randomly scattered zones for living, dining, cooking and toilets was designed to evoke spatial fluidity that mimics the expression of a rural homestead. Through the use of mud construction, the design embraces primitive sensibilities, offering natural insulation and environmental harmony employing lightweight timber posts in a spontaneous arrangement and earthen volumes that rests entirely beneath a layered roof system of timber beams, bamboo shed, and a translucent sheet at top.
