The 10-storied commercial headquarters for Dahmashi Group at Banani reinterprets the idea of a corporate facade by shifting from conventional structural expression to a composition defined by planes, depth, and shadow. Instead of exposing structure in a literal sense, the design frames the curtain wall with extruded fair-face concrete walls, their proportion and disposition carefully considered to generate a sculptural rhythm across the elevation. Fenestration is treated not as voids but as spatial impressions, where the subtle interplay of recesses, strips, and shadow lines produces a facade that is both minimal and monumental. A restrained material palette—curtain glass, exposed concrete, and metal louvers—ensures clarity while emphasizing texture and proportion. On the north and south walls, grooves and louvers add layered detail, balancing the building’s overall austerity. Three extended vertical walls assert its monumentality within the dense commercial fabric of Banani, while a projecting verandah slab punctuates the composition with a singular horizontal gesture. The result is a commercial building that functions as much as a workplace as it does a sculptural presence in the city, embodying a form-based minimalism where light, shadow, and materiality elevate the everyday office block into an architectural statement.
